Piece 1: We Need Your Prayers (EDITED)Just today, at around 3PM, I found out that one of my dad's uncles passed away. He was the husband of my grandmother's sisters. He and his family went on a camping trip. The only thing I know is that he drowned while trying to save his three year old grandson. His grandson was saved but God took his life in exchange for the life of his grandson. I met him once when he brought his family for a vacation here in the Philippines. That was almost 10 years ago. I remember him as a nice and patient man as he didn't get mad at his son when he was being a brat in front of all of us. (Had my brother done that to my dad, my dad would probably give him an embarrassing sermon!) Originally, my grandmother, Uncle Francis and Dad are flying to the US tomorrow night to attend the wake and funeral. My dad wasn't planning on going until he remembered that when he lived in the US for a year under an exchange student program, the said uncle would drive 2 hours to pick him up from his foster family so he could spend some time with his relatives. Apparently, even my dad's other siblings are going too.
Here's the news on Google.
Now
here's a later but more complete story.
Piece 2: TrustUncle Francis, who is also my boss, sent me a message via YM and said that he was flying to the US tomorrow night. But what he said next warmed my heart: Take charge kayo ni Tito Hens and Froi ha? Tito Henry is his best friend and business partner. He is the VP of Food and Beverage. Naturally, he would entrust the company to him but to entrust the welfare of the company also to me and Froilan? Both of us are level 3 managers, meaning we're a notch lower than Vice President. Froilan is the Operations Manager of our Ortigas branch and our Chief Bartender while I am the Marketing Manager. It is definitely an honor for him to trust us to watch over the company while he was gone. (And I know he didn't entrust it to me simply because I am his niece but because I have the capability). I won't let him down. We won't let him down.
Piece 3: A Birthday GreetingHappy 8th Birthday to my half brother, Judo! You have grown so fast! I used to take care of you as a baby and now you're about to receive your first communion soon! You've turned out to be a smart boy and you've made us proud incessantly and inspite of your hearing incapabilities (he is deaf in one ear), it did not stop you from being all that you want to be. You're actually mature for your age (and only become immature when dealing with your little brothers but that's understandable!) You were definitely a welcomed blessing when you entered our lives 8 years ago. We never thought that we would have another sibling!
Piece 4: Cold RockA new ice cream parlor, called Cold Rock, opened at The Fort Strip in Bonifacio Global City. Basically, you order ice cream (they had all sorts of flavors from Bubblegum, White Chocolate, Vanilla, Coffee, Choco Chip, Strawberry, Cheesecake, Double Chocolate to Ferrero as in Ferrero Rocher) and toppings that could compliment your ice cream and they mix it into the ice cream, not with a blender, but with their scoopers and spatulas. They get the ice cream, place it on their frozen table top, add the toppings (they have a wide range too from Nestle Crunch, Choco Mallows, Marshmallows, M&Ms, Hersheys Kisses, Violet Crumble, Cadbury Flakes, Milo bars, Gummy Bears to Cookie Dough) and mash it all together. The frozen table top keeps the ice cream from melting. It's gooood but expensive. I orderd a Double Chocolate Ice Cream with Nestle Crunch, Choco Mallows and Cookie Dough and that was already P199!!! I think it was worth the try!
Piece 5: Grrrrr!!!I have yet to read Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince. In fact, surprisingly, I've been taking my time and not ravishing it in one sitting. To date, I'm up to page 5 only and I've had it for more than 24 hours. So imagine my surprise and annoyance when I logged on to Yahoo Messenger and one guy on my list indicated who died in the sixth installment of the series as his status message. It said, "__________ is now dead." What a spoiler!!! I hope he's lying just to throw people off!
Piece 6: Awww, How Sweet!!!A finally bought a new phone and applied for a new line. When you apply for a post paid phone line, you get to customize your phone number. And what did he choose? The last four digits of his mobile is 1-1-2-7. The date of my birthday.

 I love how you write talaga>
Ako rin, I have the HP and the HBP but I'm still in the 2nd chapter and I've ahd it for more than 48 hours now. Am restraining myself to prolong the enjoyment of reading HP again after a year or so of waiting. Hehe.
Yeah, and I hate spoilers.
hehe i think i know who that YM person is :) although i'm not much of an HP fan, i could predict that the status message would surely send guys like you fuming.
enjoy reading though!
That's such a sweet gesture from A! Now how come when I applied for a postpaid line, I didn't get to choose my last 4 digits? Ho-hum.
Cold Rock sounds very interesting. The Fort is a bit far from where I live though so maybe one weekend I'll make a special date to go there! Thanks for the tip.
praying for your husband's loss sis...
and yeah, i've heard of many people who ruined HBP for a lot of people... kainis no?
My condolences to your family.
Cold Rock sounds just like a franchise we have here called "Cold Stone Creamery" --they blend everything with their spatulas over a cold stone (hence the name). I love it. Good to know there's something similar over there when I go visit.
